The object of this very valuable didactic book is to link the Venezuelan plastic arts to the European and North American artistic movements that preceded them. Para ello, los autores han apelado a laboriosos recursos investigativos pero de clara comprensión para el lector, tales como definición y caracterización de las principales tendencias y escuelas, incluyendo en ellas a los principales protagonistas internacionales y venezolanos, o bien la presentación de cuadros sinópticos y matrices que permiten la ubicación de los artistas y de sus respectivas fuentes de influencia, directas o indirectas.
