The research complexities of this book required intensive study over a period of 35 years in the libraries of the most important universities and museums in the world, such as the Houghton Library of Harvard University, the Green Library of Stanford University, today incorporated into the Memorial Library Rare Books Special Collection, the Biblioteca Laurenziana of Florencia, the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz and the British Museum.

Very important from an esthetic point of view, rather than from one of content, is that the book was designed by the world-famous kinetic artist Carlos Cruz Diez.

Moreover, this book is the most complete history written to date about incunable (the period between 1454 and 1500).

Complementary to the text is a section about the invention of moveable types in the Far East that makes clear that, although of great importance, it has nothing to do with their development in the west.

Las complejides de las investigaciones de este libro han requerido intensivos estudios por el perido de 35 años en las bibliotecas de las más importantes unversidades y museos del mundo, como la Houghton Library de la Harvard University – la Green Library de la Universidad de Stanford, hoy día incorporada a la Memorial Library Rare Books Special Collection y la Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana de Florencia. el museo de Gutenberg en Maguncia y el Museo Britanico.

Un hecho muy importante, si bien no de contenido pero si de estetica, es que el libro ha sido diseñado por el mundialmente famoso artista plastico y cinetico Carlos Cruz Diez.

Este libro es además la más completa historia escrita hasta la fecha de los libros incunables (periodo 1454 hasta 1500).

Como complemento, al final del libro se agregó una sección del invento de los tipos móbiles en el lejano oriente, aclarando que este evento, si bien importante, no tiene nada que ver con el invento occidental.
